IN YOUR BUCKET (NO MORE THAN 17 POUNDS):
- Clothing:
- 2 full outfits
- A hat or bonnet
- A pair of comfortable broken in shoes (a spare pair is recommended)
- Clean underclothing
- Clean socks (extra pair is recommended)
- Pajamas (you may bring pajamas but they are only to be worn inside your tent, while outside the tent please remain in pioneer clothing)
- Toiletries:
- toothbrush & toothpaste
- brush or comb
- a washcloth or package of baby wipes
- A mess kit:
- a plate
- silverware
- cloth napkin or bandana
- Personal items:
- a refillable water bottle
- a pocketknife (optional)
- pen/pencil
- Each of the brethren will need a white handkerchief
- flashlight
- Medical/Dietary needs:
- If you have specific medical or dietary needs you need to provide those things - this may include: medication, equipment or food specific to your health requirements.
NOT IN YOUR BUCKET:
- Bedding:
- a mat or pad for comfortable sleeping
- a sleeping bag
- a pillow
- You may bring a camping chair if you feel it is necessary. We want you to be comfortable. Please remember, hauling gear will take considerable effort and expense so if you can comfortably use your bucket for a chair, please do so.
EACH FAMILY NEEDS:
- A tent or multiple tents with enough space to sleep your entire family.
- A hammer or something to drive tent stakes.
- Extra tent stakes (the wind is brutal
- A set of scriptures
- 2-3 garbage bags
- A comprehensive first aid kit (see the medical section for ideas about what to put in your first aid kit).
- Consecrated oil.
EACH CART FAMILY NEEDS:
- 2 water coolers
- 1 food cooler
LEAD BUCKET:
You will only be able to put one bucket in the cart while we go out on the trail. This bucket will be designated with a Yellow Star and may contain your first aid kit, change of socks, scriptures, consecrated oil, diapers, medication, and anything else that you will need while out on the trail. This bucket can be resupplied each day but should have what is necessary for the whole family. With only 3-4 lead buckets in each cart there will be room for children or others to ride and will reduce the weight in each cart to make it easier to pull.
Lead bucket should include a small towel (for drying feet at the river crossing) and a large knife (for cutting watermelon).
