Questions and Answers

Today in our 5th Sunday meeting we discussed a lot of common questions that have been asked about trek. Here is a picture of the staging area where we will arrive.  There is the old fort on the left and a replica wagon.  This is where we will eat lunch upon arrival on Thursday.
Here is the map of the trails.  We will arrive at the Trek Center and take Trail #3 to the Campgrounds off to the left of the map.  We will not cross the river on Thursday.  When we arrive we will load our buckets into the carts.  Friday morning when we leave the campground you don't have to put your buckets back in the cart - only the gear that you'll need for the day.  We want to leave a lot of room in the carts for kids, snacks and nothing (weighs a lot less than something).
Rickshaw's are single person carts that are pulled by one person.  We have 8 of these reserved for emergencies and for those who are not able to walk but still want to be on the trail.  If you are interested in using one of these Rickshaws please contact Dennis and Karen Smith and get your name on the list.  Depending on how many are interested in using them we will put together a rotation so that everyone will have the chance to join us on the trail that would like to.
Bishop made a great point today.  If you want to participate in Trek but cannot walk you are welcome to stay in the campground.  We will spend a lot of time there both Thursday and Friday evening and Friday and Saturday morning.  We'd love to have you with us at those times.  We will also have activities and things to do in camp when the rest of the group is trekking.

Lastly - a reminder that if you need hotel accommodations in Rawlins you should make those reservations as soon as possible.  If there is any information that you need that you cannot find on this site please contact Toni Petersen at 592-0575 or tynton17@gmail.com and I'll add it to the site as soon as possible.
